Metro Police Arrests Telemarketing for Gambling Site 'Fastspin77'

JAKARTA - The eradication of online gambling continues. Most recently, Metro Jaya Police arrested a telemarketer from the 'fastpin77' site controlled from Cambodia.

"We made an effort to forcibly arrest one suspect in an online gambling case," said Director of Special Criminal Investigation of Metro Jaya Police, Grand Commissioner Ade Safri Simanjuntak to VOI, Friday, August 23.

The online gambling telemarketer is known to have the initials V alias Joel. He was arrested at a fast food restaurant in Manggarai, South Jakarta, on August 18.

Joel's arrest began with the results of a cyber patrol that found the fastpin77 online gambling site.

Then, it was developed and led to Joel. So, investigative steps were taken and then an arrest was made.

From the results of the examination, Joel turned out to have a fairly large role on the 'fastpin77' site. Not only telemarketing, he was also customer service.

"Carrying out administrative work, such as checking daily reports, checking office inventory if there are any problems, and the task of taking care of visa extensions for Indonesian workers working in Cambodia," he said.

"Providing an account to hold deposit funds from players using his account," continued Ade.

Currently, Joel has been detained for further investigation at the Metro Jaya Police detention center. In this case, he is suspected of Article 27 paragraph (2) in conjunction with Article 45 paragraph (3) of Law Number 1 of 2024 concerning the second amendment to Law Number 11 of 2008 concerning Information and Electronic Transactions and/or Article 303 of the Criminal Code (KUHP).
