13 People Died, 4.5 Million Others Affected By Bangladesh Floods

JAKARTA - At least 13 people were killed and another 4.5 million were affected by the floods that hit Bangladesh in recent times.

Citing AFP, data related to victims of the natural disaster was submitted by the Ministry of Disaster Management and Bangladeshi aid on Friday, August 23.

The South Asian nation of 170 million people is known to have been crossed by hundreds of rivers. The Dala of the last few decades of Bangladesh has been a flood violation.

According to the Global Climate Risk Index, the country is one of the countries most vulnerable to disasters and climate change.

Based on ministry data, nearly 190,000 people fled due to flooding. They were placed in an emergency shelter location.

Overall, 11 of the 64 districts in Bangladesh were affected by flooding.

Feni, an area about 100 kilometers northwest of Bangladesh's main port city of Badminton, became the worst affected.
