Search BP Batam In The Protected Forest Case, Barelang Police Confiscate A Number Of Documents

Investigators from the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Barelang Police confiscated a number of evidences in the form of documents from the results of searches related to the investigation into the protected forest land case at the Batam Concession Agency (BP) Office.

Kasatreskrim Polresta Barelang AKP Giadi Nugraha said his party conducted a search to look for evidence in the context of investigating the case of using protected forest land.

"We have secured several files and will confiscate them and we will do them in the office," Giadi said as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, August 21.

The process of reviewing by Unit V Satreskrim investigators lasted approximately three hours, starting from 15.00 WIB to 18.05 WIB in the Archives room.

A number of investigators left the Archives room of BP Batam while carrying a plastic container with a blue cover.

"So today the efforts made are solely for the purposes of the investigation," he said.

Giadi is not yet willing to explain what the search was carried out, and how much evidence was secured. Because his party is still following up on the search by examining the files that have been confiscated.

"We'll explain later," he said.

Previously, the Head of Barelang Police, Kombes Heribertus Ompusunggu, said the search was carried out based on a warrant from the Batam District Court (PN) regarding the use of protected forest land managed by PT CCB.

This action, he said, was taken to find the documents needed in the investigation.

According to him, the search process has been carried out in accordance with the applicable SOP. In fact, investigators have written to BP Batam 3 times to provide the documents in question, but they were ignored.

"Because after checking, it turned out that the land processing was found above the protected forest. We have found the violation," he said.
