Raisa Shares How To Find New Themes In Writing Songs

JAKARTA - The theme of romance that has become 'primadona' for pop music requires songwriters to continue to be creative so that the theme doesn't sound boring and becomes clich.

As song singers who choose pop music, Raisa Andriana has her own way of developing the theme of the song she has been using so far.

The No Longer Hope singer begins writing a song by thinking about a story that has never been raised. In this case, he is looking for something specific.

"I definitely started with 'what are the themes that have never been raised?' It's just my way of 'nake', I'm looking for more specific themes," Raisa said when met in Ampera, South Jakarta on Tuesday, August 20.

Taking the theme of heartbreak, Raisa will look for specific things that break her heart with someone.

"For example (the theme) is heartbroken, okay, what is heartbreak, oh maybe when he sees the shop he usually comes to before going to the office, now that's even more specific, then after that, oh this is the food he usually ordered," Raisa said.

"Well, what do we feel there when we see his food orders that are so specific," he continued.

"So, the ways I look for new themes are usually like that. I'm looking for narrower, more specific moments."

Speaking further about how to get inspiration in writing songs, Raisa said that reading books was the most effective for her so far.

"I'm not looking, but I read a lot of books. And maybe there are also many themes that can be used as inspiration," Raisa concluded.
