Golkar National Conference Agrees Bahlil To Become A New Chairman

The Golkar Party's XI National Conference (Munas) approved Bahlil Lahadalia to become the sole formatr who made the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources only one step away from becoming the new chairman of the party bearing the banyan tree symbol.

Chairman of the Golkar Party's XI National Conference, Adies Kadir, said that all voters in the National Conference, starting from DPD I, DPD II, founding organizations, organizations established, to wing organizations, had supported Bahlil to become the General Chair of the Golkar Party for the period 2024-2029.

"If there are candidates who get 50 percent plus 1 support from voting rights holders, they will be immediately declared as chairman or chairman of the formatur," Adies said during a press conference at the Golkar Party's XI National Conference at the Jakarta Convention Center, Jakarta, as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, August 20.

The status of the sole formatur now owned allows Bahlil to arrange the management of the Golkar Party Central Leadership Council for the next period independently.

In addition to establishing Bahlil as the sole formatur, Adies said that the Golkar Party's XI National Conference had removed the Golkar Party Central Management Board (DPP) for the 2019-2024 period which was previously led by Airlangga Hartarto and was temporarily continued by Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita.

The National Conference will be held again on Wednesday (21/8) with the agenda of the general program commission, recommendation commission, and political statements, which will end with the appointment of a new general chairman.
