Ernando Ari Akui Contacted By The Indonesian National Team Coach Team Ahead Of The 2026 World Cup Qualification

JAKARTA - Persebaya Surabaya goalkeeper, Ernando Ari, publicly stated that he had communicated with the Indonesian national team coach team.

Ernando welcomed this even though until now PSSI has not sent an official summons.

"They (the coaching team) have contacted me," said Ernando Ari in his statement in Jakarta, quoted on Tuesday, August 20, 2024.

Ernando admitted that the Indonesian national team is currently focusing on preparing a training camp (TC) in Jakarta at the end of August 2024.

The TC was deliberately held to appear in the Third Round of the 2026 World Cup Qualification in the Asian Zone.

"There are preparations at the end of this month for that (World Cup Qualification 2026)," he said.

The Indonesian national team will play in the Third Round of the 2026 Asian Zone World Cup Qualifiers. The agenda is scheduled to take place from September 5 to June 10, 2025.

The Indonesian national team is in Group C with Japan, Bahrain, China, Saudi Arabia, and Australia.

The journey of the Indonesian national team will be opened against Saudi Arabia at King Abdullah Sports City, on September 6, 2024. After that, the Garuda squad will play home matches in Jakarta against Australia on September 10, 2024.
