Market Trends Haven't Been Formed, Wuling Hasn't Planned To Play In The MPV Electricity Segment
JAKARTA - Wuling Motors (Wuling) has no plans to play in the electricity Multi Purpose Vehicle (MPV) segment in Indonesia, due to market trends that have not yet been formed.
This was revealed by the Public Relations Manager of Wuling Motors Brian Gomgom. He revealed what kind of segment the market for electric vehicles has not yet been formed.
"Again, we are seeing the trend of electric cars and currently the market has just formed," he said, when met in the Bogor area, West Java, some time ago.
He further said that if you look at this one or two years, many new models are included in electric car competitions, so making what segments are needed including dimensions does not exist. Unlike Internal Combustion Engine (ICE).
"If ICE has been formed because it has been around for a long time, so the segment needed we can see," he added.

The man who is familiarly called Gomgom also revealed that the current buyer of electric cars is still seeing its function and economy. For example, there is no need to queue for gas stations, odd-even free.
"That's what we have to look at together for the trend, but if we look at our consumers, it's more practical," he explained.
When asked if the trend took a long time, Gomgom revealed again depending on the dynamics and competition itself.
"It depends on the dynamics as well, and as I said, ICE has been around for a long time and which ones have been sold, but where does the electric car still run," he added.
As is known, recently BYD officially launched an electric car in the MPV segment, and it was proven that this one car received a warm welcome with orders exceeding 1,000 units during the 2024 GIIAS. Of course, it is good news considering that MPV is thick as a family car because of its large dimension.
