Former Secretary Of East Seram Regency Arrested In Case Of Alleged Corruption Of IDR 38 Billion
The former Regional Secretary (Sekda) of the Eastern Seram Regency, Maluku was arrested by the Maluku High Prosecutor's Office and the Attorney General's Office on August 17, 2024 in a rented house in Gemba, Kairatu District, West Seram, Maluku. This arrest was made without any resistance from the former regional secretary.
The former Secretary is suspected of being involved with the convict Idris Lestaluhu in manipulating financial documents and mark-up of direct expenditure budgets and indirectly at the Regional Secretariat of the East Seram Regency, with a total loss of more than Rp 38 billion.
"The suspect DK and Idris Lestaluhu manipulated documents, mark ups and made fictitious documents related to the 2021 budget," Rajendra explained, Monday, August 19.
Rajendra added that the former regional secretary was declared a suspect on January 28, 2024 after finding false documents and unreasonable use of the budget through an audit of the Maluku Province Inspectorate.
Although the prosecutor has been summoned three times, namely on February 13 and 18 and March 15, 2024, the former regional secretary did not fulfill the summons, so his status was designated as a wanted list (DPO) last May.

After hiding for two months, the former regional secretary was finally arrested in his rented house in Gemba. The state losses caused by this corruption act reached Rp 582 million. Currently, the former Secretary of State is being held at the Waiheru Class II A Detention Center, Ambon.
