The Attorney General's Office Said About Jessica Kumala Wongso's Plan To Submit A PK
JAKARTA - Jessica Kumala Wongso plans to submit a review (PK) to the Supreme Court (MA) regarding the murder case of Wayan Mirna Salihin. Responding to this step, the Attorney General's Office (AGO) stated that it is the right of every citizen involved in the law.
"So it is the right of the convict," said Head of the AGO, Harli Siregar to VOI, Monday, August.
Pengakuan PK, kata Harli diatur dalam Pasal 263 KUHAP. Pasal itu secara lugas menyatakan terpidana atau ahli warisnya dapat mengajukan PK kepada MA.
Thus, the AGO invited Jessica Kumala Wongso and her attorney to carry out the plan.
Of course, the application for PK must be based on strong reasons such as finding new evidence.
"Of course, he passed away to the reasons for submitting the PK itself, for example whether it was true that there was a novum (new evidence) or there was an error or the judge's mistake," said Harli.
Previously, Jessica Kumala Wongso's attorney, Otto Hasibuan, stated that his party plans to file a PK. One of the reasons is because the judge's decision against his client is deemed inappropriate.
"But we as lawyers discuss with Jessica that maybe the verdict is not in accordance with what we think is happening. Therefore, we will try the opportunity to file a PK against the case, so that's the position," said Otto.
