National Conference Holds Tuesday This Week, Golkar Invites Jokowi And Prabowo

JAKARTA - The Golkar Party invited President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) and President-elect Prabowo Subianto at the closing of the Golkar Party XI National Conference which will take place on Wednesday, August 21, 2024.

"The closing at 19.00 WIB will be attended by the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Mr. Joko Widodo and the President-elected Mr. Prabowo Subianto," said Deputy Chairperson of the Golkar Party Bambang Soesatyo (Bamsoet) during a press conference at the Golkar Party DPP Office, Jakarta, Sunday, August 18, which was confiscated by Antara.

Bamsoet explained that the National Conference will be preceded by a national leadership meeting (rapimnas) which is expected to be attended by 500 participants. The Golkarbakal Rapimnas will be held at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC) on Tuesday, August 20, 2024 starting at 08.00 p.m. -13.00 p.m. local time.

"This Rapimnas is the ratification of the resignation of the General Chairperson of the Golkar Party, Airlangga Hartarto. Second, the ratification of plt. and the ratification of the munas schedule," he said.

Meanwhile, the National Conference will be held on the same day and location starting at 14.00 WB. The Golkar Party's National Conference is predicted to be attended by 1,500 participants.

The next National Conference was held the next day to hear the party commission reports as well as the election for the General Chair of the Golkar Party for the 2024 '2029 Period.

Furthermore, the chairman of the Golkar Party DPP, Ace Hasan Syadzily, explained that he could not confirm Jokowi's presence at the closing of the munas juha related to his ratification as a cadre of the Golkar Party.

"We also don't want to think about whether he will join Golkar or not," said Ace.

He said, Golkar as a party that has been providing support to the government should invite government figures who determine the direction of state policy.

"Of course we want to emphasize that regarding membership from the President, of course, we will return it to the organization," he said.
