As A Single Candidate For Ketum Hanura, OSO Claims To Want To Regeneration Of Party Leadership

JAKARTA - General Chairperson of Hanura Oesman Sapta Odang or OSO wants a regeneration of new leadership rather than nominating again as chairman.

"Yes, if possible, there must be a successor and there must be someone who can also carry out what we are currently working on," said Oesman when asked if he might be re-elected as chairman in the 4th National Conference (Munas) in Hanura in Bali, Sunday, August 18, confiscated by Antara.

According to him, regeneration is very much needed to advance the party and lead it to a new political direction.

Therefore, OSO is very open to anyone who wants to replace his position as general chairman.

"It could be, that's the right of all participants (munas)," he said.

Previously, Hanura Party Steering Committee Chairman Akhmad Muqowam said his party would determine the general chairman in the 4th National Conference which will be held today and tomorrow, Monday, August 19.

According to Muqowam, this agenda is a routine activity that must be held in accordance with the party's articles of association and household budget (AD/RT).

The National Conference activity will be attended by the Hanura Party Regional Management Board (DPD) from all over Indonesia.

Muqowam said that during the National Conference, his party would accommodate anyone who wanted to run for chairman of the Hanura Party.

After the names of the candidates for general chairman are accommodated, his party will conduct an election for the general chairman through a mechanism regulated in the National Conference.

Until now, Muqowam confirmed that there is no other name besides the General Chairperson of the Hanura OSO Party who will again run as chairman.

"But so far what has recommended the proposal from the DPD and DPC is only Pak Oso," he said.
