After Anies, Social Minister Risma's Turn To Ensure Aid For Matraman Fire Victims

JAKARTA - Minister of Social Affairs Tri Rismaharini ensures that social assistance is distributed to the families of fire victims at Jalan Pisangan Baru III, Matraman, East Jakarta.

The Ministry of Social Affairs is now recording the victims, including the heirs of the ten victims who died from the Matraman fire.

"I have asked to find data, we will provide social assistance. Earlier I have agreed, hopefully, this month we will provide assistance", said Risma quoted by Antara, Thursday, March 25.

Social Minister Risma also offered victims who lost their homes to be temporarily accommodated at the Ministry of Social Affairs' Center for Social Affairs.

Risma said that her party will bring in a psychologist to heal the trauma of the victims. The assistance from the Ministry of Social Affairs was handed over directly by Risma to the victims.

The Ministry of Social Affairs is preparing grief compensation for ten heirs of IDR 150 million.

"The Ministry of Social Affairs prepares a budget for compensation for victims of death, each IDR 15 million for 10 people, so the total prepared is IDR 150 million", said the Director of Social Protection for Social Disaster Victims of the Ministry of Social Affairs Sunarti.

The Ministry of Social Affairs has deployed a Psychosocial Support Service Team and Peace Pioneer Workers to conduct initial assessments of the families of victims affected by the fire. Of the 10 victims who died, only eight heirs were found.

"After verification in the field, we have just found eight heirs, then we will continue to strive to find heirs", said Sunarti, who directly led the verification team in the field.

As many as 10 people died as a result of the intense fire in the densely populated settlement Jl Pisangan Baru III-RT06/RW10, Matraman, East Jakarta, Thursday morning.

Previously, DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan visited the fire location in Matraman, East Jakarta with East Jakarta Mayor M. Anwar and Head of Social Service, Premium Larasati.

Anies meets survivors of the flames. At least, this fire killed 10 people from the two families who lived in the rented house.

Anies said that all the victims of the Matraman fire would be given temporary shelters. Their life necessities such as eating and drinking will be facilitated for the next 21 days.

"We make sure the contractor who was burned has a temporary shelter. God willing, victims who are still healthy, who have lost their homes, are prepared", said Anies at the location, Thursday, March 25.

Anies said that all-important documents belonging to the family whose house was burned will be replaced immediately.

"All the letters and documents that were lost were replaced while looking for new rented houses. Because those who became victims were rented residents", he said.
