Hasto Sindir KPK Never Returns Confiscated PDIP Records: Maybe Because The Pilkada Hasn't Run

The Secretary General of the PDI-P (PDIP) Hasto Kristiyanto satirized the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) who never returned his notebook containing data on the PDIP strategy for the 2024 Pilkada.

The book was confiscated by the KPK when Hasto gave information regarding the Harun Masiku case some time ago. Hasto suspects that the KPK has not returned its notebook because the 2024 Pilkada process has not been completed.

"Not yet (returned), because maybe the regional elections are not yet running. The document contains the secret of the party. Including about the implementation of the regional elections. That's a motive," said Hasto at the PDIP DPP Party School, Lenteng Agung, South Jakarta, Saturday, August 17.

Hasto emphasized that the KPK must ensure that the confiscated documents are not misused for certain purposes. This is also regulated in criminal procedural law.

Meanwhile, according to him, when a KPK investigator named Rossa Probo Bekti confiscated Hasto's PDIP notebook and cellphone, it was carried out in a way that was not in accordance with legal procedures.

"Brother Rossa had to disguise himself, both lied, the third took him away, the fourth interrogated the fifth to investigate Sisnadi's brother without a summons. Is this justified by law enforcement officials who should enforce the legal mechanism properly?" he said.

The investigators carried out the confiscation of Hasto's belongings from Kusnadi on Monday, June 10. At that time, they were asking for information about the whereabouts of Harun, who was still at large.

Hasto had previously attempted to contact the KPK Supervisory Board (Dewas) to ask for the return of the party's books that were confiscated during the examination some time ago. Hasto revealed that the book contained the direction of PDI-P General Chair Megawati Soekarnoputri regarding the 2024 Simultaneous Pilkada data.

"Yes, I have tried a process to the Supervisory Board because it is a document regarding very important matters related to party information," said Hasto at the PDI-P DPP Office, Jakarta, Thursday, August 15.

The confiscation of the PDI-P book can lead to public perceptions that legal intervention by the authorities in the regional elections is true. He also suspects that there are strategic efforts to regulate that the regional head candidates who appear are those who are wanted by the authorities.

"So, the book stores various confidential information related to regional elections and also directions from Mrs. Megawati Soekarnoputri," he said.

The Secretary General of the PDI-P also emphasized, "It belongs to the party so there is also a connection with what Mrs. Mega said."
