PDIP Values NasDem Canceled Anies Due To Pressure
PDI-P Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto assessed that there was something unusual about the attitude of NasDem Party Chairman Surya Paloh in his candidacy in the Jakarta Pilkada.
Which, Surya suddenly withdrew support to Anies Baswedan. According to Hasto, NasDem's peptusion that failed to carry Anies suddenly was not a habit of Surya Paloh.
"Yes, it is not a habit of solar bang paloh, but it is the sovereign right of our nasdem party not to intervene," said Hasto at the PDIP DPP Party School, Lenteng Agung, South Jakarta, Saturday, August 17.
Hasto assessed that there was something that was covered up by the change in NasDem's political stance, along with joining the party into Prabowo Subianto's government.
So, Hasto suspects that there are pressure efforts from certain parties to make Surya Paloh withdraw support for Anies in the Jakarta gubernatorial election.
"There is something that seems to be covered up. Therefore, politics must be transparent. This is part of our efforts to try to suppress it," said Hasto.
Chairman of the NasDem Party Surya Paloh stated that his party canceled carrying Anies Baswedan as a candidate for governor in the 2024 Jakarta Pilkada.
Paloh emphasized this after meeting with the General Chair of the Gerindra Party as well as the elected President of the Republic of Indonesia for the period 2024-2029, Prabowo Subianto at his residence on Jalan Kertanegara IV, South Jakarta, Thursday, August 15, 2024.

"Yes, it is clear (the reason for carrying Anies, ed)," Paloh told reporters.
Surya claimed to have informed Anies regarding the cancellation of the investigation for the 2024 Jakarta gubernatorial election. According to him, now is no longer the right momentum for Anies to participate in the Jakarta Pilkada contestation.
"I have informed Mr. Anies. Mr. Anies, as your younger brother, this is not your moment to run in the Greater Jakarta regional elections. We are looking for a more precise momentum in the future. There is an understanding," he said.
