Jokowi: Thank You, The RI Anniversary Ceremony At IKN Is Going Well

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) said that the implementation of the commemoration of the Seconds of the Proclamation and the raising of the Red and White Flag in the context of the 79th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia was inaugurated at the Garuda IKN Palace Ceremony Field, East Kalimantan, Saturday afternoon, was going well and smoothly.

"Thank you, the ceremony went well. Disband," said President Jokowi, who acted as Inspector of Ceremonies to the Ceremony Commander Colonel Inf Nur Wahyudi quoting Antara.

After saluting the weapon to President Jokowi, the ceremonial troops were then rested to witness the Garuda Flight air demonstration.

The ceremony which started at 09.00 WITA began with the procession of handing over a replica of Sang Saka Merah Putih from the Head of the Presidential Secretariat Heru Budi Hartono to the personnel of the Paskibraka officer who carried the balance on behalf of Livenia total Kurniawan from East Kalimantan.

At around 09.55 WITA, President Jokowi and First Lady Iriana Joko Widodo and the elected president Prabowo Subianto entered the ceremony and headed for the pulpit of honor.

President Jokowi and First Lady were seen wearing traditional Kutai clothes walking from the State Palace to the stage of honor. President Jokowi and Iriana walked on the red carpet.

The President held the hand of the First Lady as she descended the stairs. Arriving at the pulpit of honor, the elected president Prabowo Subianto approached President Jokowi.

The three then stood side by side. President Jokowi is in the middle, Prabowo is on the right of Jokowi and Iriana on the left of Jokowi.

The commemoration of the Seconds of the Proclamation was marked by the sound of cannon fire 17 times, sirens, beduks in mosques, and bells in churches, sounded for one minute.

The ceremony was continued with the process of raising the Red and White Flag. This process was also attended together by all participants in the ceremony at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta.

The flag-snatching procession on a 17 meter high pole was successfully occupied by Try Adyaksa, a young man from South Sulawesi. Also the flag-raising process by Akmal Faiz Ali Gaddafi from Central Java which amazed the audience.
