4.8 Earthquake Hits Jordan-Suriah Border
JAKARTA - An earthquake measuring 4.8 hit the Jordan-Syria border. There have been no reports of the impact of this earthquake.
Reuters reported a report by the German Center for Geoscience Research (GFZ) which said the earthquake occurred at a depth of 10 km (6 miles) on Friday, August 16.
The earthquake, which was felt by residents throughout Syria and Lebanon, experienced a magnitodo declaration from the previous magnitude of 5.2 on the Richter scale.

The Syrian National Earthquake Center said the tremors were felt by residents of the western Syrian city of Salamiyah, near the 4.8 magnitude earthquake that occurred on Monday night, causing panic and dozens of people were injured but there were no casualties.
