Rizki Juniansyah Accuses Banten And Attack Officials Of Looking For Faces
JAKARTA - Weightlifter Rizki Juniansyah accused his local government official of taking advantage of his achievements in winning the 2024 Olympic gold medal to find a face.
Rizki said that the Banten Provincial Government (Pemprov) and the Serang City Government (Pemkot) had been absent from providing support to athletes, but there were achievements.
"Don't let the athletes arrive in Indonesia, we are greeted by those who are looking for faces, yes. Sorry, yes, not because I'm annoyed or what, but in reality like this," said Rizki.
This situation is actually not something that has just been found. Words in the form of large posters that show portraits of officials with athletes often appear when achievements are made by the nation's children.

This is actually normal as a form of appreciation. However, it is sad that they have been paying minimal attention to potential seeds that can make the nation proud.
Rizki hopes that in the future the Government's support for other athletes must be greater so that they can score other achievements that are more proud.
"Sorry, I don't need to be given this, right. I just need to be given support and prayers, that's already happy. They (officials) came here to praise everyone, don't look at me globally, look at my brothers and sisters, we practice from scratch," he said.
Rizki got gold at the 2024 Paris Olympics from weightlifting in the 73 kilogram class. He made history as Indonesia's first lifter to achieve this achievement.
Apart from Rizki, Indonesia also brought home a gold medal from the men's speed rock climbing branch through Veddriq Leonardo and one bronze from Gregoria Mariska Tunjung.
