Californians Will Be Able To Save SIMs And Identity Signs On Google Wallet And Apple Wallet

JAKARTA - California Governor Gavin Newsom announced that all California residents will be able to store state SIMs on mobile devices via Apple Wallet and Google Wallet.

"We partnered with two iconic companies California, Apple and Google to provide a comfortable, private, and secure driver's license and identity card directly on people's phones," Newsom said in an announcement on the California government's official website.

This new capability will provide a variety of ways to add and present California SIM and identity cards using iPhone, Apple Watch, and Android devices.

"This is a practical option for identity verification that gives Californians greater control over the way they share their information," he concluded.

Some other states that already support digital SIM and state IDs launched TechCrunch, are Arizona, Colorado, Georgia, Maryland, and Ohio.
