Many National Data Hacking, Bamsoet Please Advance Technology To Increase Cyber Security

JAKARTA - Chairman of the People's Consultative Assembly or MPR Bambang Soesatyo alias Bamsoet said technological advances, especially information technology, are also expected to be a solution to the various problems we are currently facing.

Bamsoet conveyed that the digitization of services from trade, financial services, to government has grown faster in the past decade.

"The rapid development of digitalization also leaves other problems, namely the widening of digital inequality, especially in eastern Indonesia," he said at the MPR/DPR/DPD RI Annual Session which was held at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Friday, August 16.

Therefore, Bamsoet highlighted Indonesia's cyber security because there are still many cases of national data hacking.

So cybersecurity in Indonesia needs to be improved, considering that national data security is very urgent to tighten its security.

"This is also related to cases of national data hacking, which hint at the urgency of the availability of government agencies that focus on cybersecurity, including legal regulations," he said.

Bamsoet said that according to the National Cyber Security Index, Indonesia still occupies the fifth position in Southeast Asia in terms of cybersecurity.

"We both know that the world has entered the era of the internet of military things / internet of battle-field things, where military operations are increasingly being controlled from very far distances, more quickly, precisely, and accurately," he said.

In addition, Bamsoet also conveyed about the security of Indonesia's military data. He suggested that the Indonesian government immediately prepare the formation of the IV of the Indonesian National Army (TNI) by presenting the Cyber Force, to strengthen the three existing dimensions, namely the army, navy and air force.

Bamsoet added that cybersecurity is very important to improve considering that Indonesia's geopolitical position is very vulnerable, because it is directly facing the trident of the British Commonwealth.

"Malaysia, Singapore, and Australia, who are members of the Five Power Defense Arrangement (FFDA) with New Zealand and the United Kingdom, and on the other hand, are also in the arena of geopolitical battles between Russia, China and America," he said.
