Minister Basuki Outspoken About The Secrets Of IKN Development Ahead Of The 17 August Ceremony: Good Intention
JAKARTA - The capital city of Nusantara is confirmed to be ready to hold the 79th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia tomorrow, Saturday, August 17, 2024.
As is known, the basic infrastructure of IKN shows significant progress in its development.
Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Basuki Hadimuljono also revealed secrets related to the development of IKN ahead of the 79th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia.
Basuki assessed that the buildings that had been built at IKN emerged from good intentions.
"If I always discuss with Mr. President Jokowi, our secret is to build IKN, this is only one good intention, nothing else. With that good intention, I will do everything sincerely, sincerely," Basuki said in a video upload on the official Instagram account of the Ministry of PUPR @kemenpupr, quoted Friday, August 16.
With these good intentions, said Basuki, they were finally met with experts to build urban areas.
He even admitted that the ministry he led did not have much experience in building urban areas.
"In this PU (Ministry), frankly, we don't have much experience in building cities. Building bridges, roads, yes. Building drinking water, yes, building buildings. But, building a city we don't have much experience," he said.
Because he did not have this experience, said Basuki, his party held a competition to find people who were indeed experts in building a city.
"We did a competition to get Mr. Simbarani, a design urban expert. We want to leave the palace, which is really the work of the nation's children, can get Mr. Nyoman," he said.
Meanwhile, for lansekap experts, Basuki said it was obtained after he and Jokowi visited one of the tourism destinations in the country, namely Likupang in North Sulawesi.
"I and Pak Jokowi reviewed the 5 leading tourism destinations. One of them went to Likupang. We saw the construction of the Marriott Hotel which had not yet been completed, but for a very good environment. I asked who this was made? It turned out that he was there. Mr. Yeye got it, we used it here and he is here all the time," explained Basuki.
The last is about the palace interior. Basuki revealed that the expert was the architect who designed the Kempinski Apurva Bali Hotel design.
Initially, said Basuki, the Director General of Human Settlements at the Ministry of PUPR, Diana Kusumastuti, publicly asked experts to first make a mock-up of 1:1 scale to be placed in the PUPR Ministry Hall.
Then, Basuki also saw that there was one that was suitable for the interior needs of the palace.
"As soon as I saw it, this is not a palace. I asked the architect, his experience in making interiors, in apartments. Ah it fits. I have asked the Director General (Diana Kusumastuti) to find the architect who built Kempinski Apurva Bali, got the current Mr. Dodo," he said.
