JAKARTA - Chairman of the Indonesian People's Consultative Assembly Bambang Soesatyo or Bamsoet reminded the need for a big strategy to create food sovereignty. Don't let Indonesia just rely on imports to meet domestic needs.This was conveyed by Bamsoet in the Annual Session of the MPR RI and the Joint Session of the DPR RI and DPD RI in 2024 which was held today, Friday, August 16. Initially he mentioned many problems in the agricultural sector."Starting from the narrower agricultural land... increasing the frequency of pests and plant diseases, the higher production costs and the threat of climate change," said Bamsoet at the Parliament Complex, Senayan.Seeing this condition, Bamsoet reminded the need to create food sovereignty. Moreover, the population of the world's population, including in Indonesia, continues to increase.So, it is necessary to think about how to prevent a food crisis from happening in the future. "Do not let Indonesia only depend on food from outside," said Bamsoet."We need to prepare a big strategy to create food sovereignty in Indonesia," he said.
