Kiai Lirboyo: NU In The Regions Must Consider PBNU's Action Unreasonable

JAKARTA - The figure at the Lirboyo Islamic Boarding School, Kediri, East Java, Kiai Zamzami Mahrus said that the Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) administrators in the regions must have assessed that the actions taken by the Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU) Executive Board regarding their feud with the National Awakening Party (PKB) did not make sense.

He said the NU management was worried about the condition. According to him, the conflict must be resolved because PBNU does not have the right to interfere with internal PKB affairs.

"Because PBNU and PKB are for different organization forums. NU administrators should have realized that position by not continuing to polemic and end the conflict," said Zamzami as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, August 14.

He said Yahya Cholil Staquf alias Gus Yahya as the Chair of the PBNU Tanfidziyah must realize the position and role of PBNU as a community organization, not a political organization.

"In this case, PBNU itself deviates from the khittah (a outline of the organization's struggle) not to do practical politics. What was done today clearly violates NU's khittah," he said.

He believes that regional administrators and NU branch administrators in the regions want to express their anxiety about the PBNU and PKB feud. However, they could not reveal it because of a structural collision.

"PBNU must continue to maintain its kittah and its maqom as a mass organization. Do not enter into practical politics. For political matters, fully trust in PKB," he said.

Previously, PBNU had formed a team of five or special committees (special committees) aimed at seizing PKB to return to its original ideology.

This was done because the PBNU elite saw that PKB was no longer on the path of NU ideology and was only controlled by Muhaimin Iskandar and his crafts.

The formation of a special committee will resemble a team that initially gave birth to PKB in the past.
