Bahlil Denies President Jokowi Cawe-cawe Golkar Internal Affairs

JAKARTA - The Minister of Investment/Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) who is also a cadre of the Golkar Party, Bahlil Lahadalia, denied that President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) was involved in the Golkar Party's internal management.

"Nothing, nothing, nothing. What's a mess, this is just an internal process, nothing," said Bahlil after the Ceremony of Service and Honorary Ceremony at the State Palace in Jakarta, reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, August 14.

Bahlil is predicted to be one of the candidates for the General Chair of the Golkar Party at the Golkar Party National Conference (Munas) on August 20, 2024.

When confirmed this, Bahlil admitted that he had not directly participated in the dynamics of the party bearing the banyan tree.

Bahlil said the development about whether he was running or not as a candidate for the General Chair of the Golkar Party could be followed at the time of the National Conference.

"I happen to have not followed directly what the dynamics are at the Golkar DPP. We'll see developments later," said Bahlil.

It is known that President Jokowi emphasized that Airlangga Hartarto's resignation from the position of General Chair of Golkar was an internal matter of the party.

This was emphasized by Joko Widodo when answering reporters' questions regarding the issue of a conversation held by Jokowi regarding Golkar, which affected Airlangga's decision.

"Mr. Airlangga's business is an internal party, there is a process in the party, there is a mechanism," said Joko Widodo after reviewing the PSSI Training Center at IKN on Tuesday (13/8).
