Prosecutors Prepare 168 Witnesses To Prove Harvey Moeis' Involvement In Tin Corruption

JAKARTA - The trial of the alleged corruption case in the management of tin commodity trading in the mining business permit (IUP) area of PT Timah Tbk for the 2015 to 2022 period with the defendant Harvey Moeis will proceed to the evidentiary stage.

The plan is that the Public Prosecutor (JPU) will present 168 witnesses to prove Harvey Moeis' involvement in the alleged corruption case.

Chief Judge Eko Aryanto, who responded to the statement, asked the prosecutor not to present all witnesses. However, only important witnesses.

The prosecutor also agreed and will present 5 witnesses at the next trial.

"Five witnesses, Your Majesty," said the prosecutor.

The plan is that the next trial will take place on Thursday, August 22, 2024. Harvey Moeis' trial will be held twice a week.

Harvey Moeis was charged with being involved in the alleged corruption of tin governance which caused a loss of Rp. 300 trillion.

Harvey Moeis and the owner of PT Quantum Skyline Exchange Helena Lim are said to have splashed Rp420 billion.

Thus, in this case Harvey Moeis was charged with Article 2 paragraph (1) and Article 3 in conjunction with Article 18 of the Anti-Corruption Law in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) 1st of the Criminal Code and Article 3 of 2010 concerning Money Laundering.
