JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo reported the progress of the PSSI Training Center (TC) development at IKN (National Capital). According to him, the training arena can be used by the Indonesian national team starting September 2024.

Not only used for training, Jokowi also explained that at the TC location, dormitories for the players were provided.

"Yesterday I asked the General Chairperson of PSSI, September 2024 it will be used. The problem is, this has become 2.5 fields," said President Joko Widodo in his statement after reviewing the TC PSSI at IKN quoted on Wednesday, August 14, 2024.

Regarding the number of 2.5 fields mentioned by Jokowi, this refers to field conditions consisting of original grass fields, synthetic grass, and half a field that will be used for technical matters.

"I think 2.5 fields are more than enough. Although later there are plans for eight fields, some from PSSI, FIFA, AFC. So, there are many donations, good," said Jokowi again.

Built with international standards and supervised by FIFA, the construction of the PSSI TC is one of the Government's efforts to improve the quality and achievements of Indonesian football.

Later, the location will become a centralized area for players and coaching staff to be able to train and develop.

TC PSSI at IKN is expected to be a supporting environment that will be equipped with the latest infrastructure and the best training methodology.
