Comparing IKN And Jakarta Air Quality, Luhut: BPJS To Release Rp38 T Due To Pollution
Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan revealed that the government has disbursed at least Rp38 trillion due to air pollution.
Luhut said that his party will hold a meeting related to the lethal injection of the Suralaya PLTU which is considered to have contributed to air pollution for 40 years. In addition, the government will intensify the use of electric vehicles or electric vehicles (EVs) in stages and the use of low sulfur fuel.
"Because the government spent Rp. 38 trillion for medical expenses, some went through BPJS, some went through self-isolation for health because due to the 170-200 index air, many of them were sick," Luhut told the medical crew when met at JCC, Wednesday, August 14.
Luhut also compared the air quality or air quality index (AQI) between the capital city of Nusantara (IKN) which only reached AQI 6 with Jakarta which touched the level 170 to 2000.
"So if someone objects, then you just feel it yourself. I don't want to.," explained Luhut.
Not only flooding with Jakarta, he also compared AQI IKN with neighboring countries such as Singapore which were considered far higher than IKN.
Luhut said the Singapore AQI reached 24 to 30 points.

"If we can, if we close Suralaya, we hope that it will go down, maybe below the 100 indexes," continued Luhut.
Moreover, he said, later RI will use a lot of electric buses. For the initial stage, Luhut said there would be an additional 5,000 electric buses that would pave.
"Then we will give sensors around Jakarta to find out what gas is issued, diesel or something because it is all dangerous for health. That is the responsibility of the government, our responsibility is a lot," concluded Luhut.
