Today's First Trial, Harvey Moeis Without Sandra Dewi Accompanied
JAKARTA - Harvey Moies will undergo the first trial of the alleged corruption case in the management of tin commodity trading procedures in the mining business permit (IUP) area of PT Timah Tbk 2015 to 2022 today. The wife, Sandra Dewi, is said to not be accompanying her.
"No family was present," said Harvey Moeis' attorney, Harris Arthur, to VOI, Wednesday, August 14.
The reason Sandra Dewi and her family at the Harvey Moeis trial was not because of serious things. It is said that the wife of his client will focus on taking care of her children.
Moreover, today's trial is said to be still in its early stages. Where, the public prosecutor (JPU) will read out the indictment.
"Alasan tidak ada karena hari ini memang agendanya hanya pembacaan dakwaan saja. Ibu Sandra fokus urusan anak-anak saja," kata Harris.
The trial is scheduled to take place at the Corruption Court at the Central Jakarta District Court (PN Jakpus) at 10.00 WIB. The agenda for this trial will be held openly to the public.
It is known that the husband of the artist Sandra Dewi and crazy rich Pantai Indah Kapuk (PIK) as well as Manager of PT QSE, Helena Lim, are said to have received IDR 420 billion in tin corruption cases.
This was revealed in the first trial of the alleged corruption case of tin trading system in the mining business permit (IUP) area at PT Timah Tbk in 2015-2022, at the Corruption Court, Jakarta, Wednesday, July 31.
Sitting as one of the defendants was Suranto as head of the mining and energy service of the island province of Bangka Belitung for the period January 2015 to March 2019.
The public prosecutor said the defendant had committed an unlawful act with other suspects related to tin trading in the IUP area at PT Timah Tbk in 2015-2022.
Suranto is said by the prosecutor to approve the 2015 to 2019 Budget and Fee Work Plan (RKAB) which contains not the right content of five smelters, namely PT Refined Bangka Tin, CV Venus Inti Perkasa, PT Sariwiguna Binasentosa, PT Stanindo Inti Perkasa, and PT Tinindo Internusa.
The prosecutor said the RKAB should be used as a basis for mining in the IUP region of each of its smelter companies and affiliates.
However, the RKAB is also used as legalization for the collection and management of tin ore from illegal mining in the PT Timah Tbk IUP area.
Suranto's actions also opened the door to illegal mining at PT Timah. Prosecutors said Suranto enriched himself or other suspects, including Harvey Moeis and Helena Lim.

The prosecutor also said that Harvey Moeis representing PT Refined Bangka Tin resulted in environmental damage both in forest areas and outside forest areas within the PT Timah Tbk IUP area, in the form of ecological losses, environmental economic losses, and environmental restoration.
