Dito: Candidates For Ketum Golkar Convey To Bahlil

JAKARTA - Deputy General Chairperson (Waketum) of the Golkar Party DPP Dito Ariotedjo admitted that there were aspirations within the party that wanted Bahlil Lahadalia to become the General Chair of Golkar.

"Yes, indeed we have heard that this aspiration has narrowed to the name Bang Bahlil," said Dito when met at the Golkar Party DPP office, Tuesday, August 13.

According to Dito, it is possible that Bahlil will be elected as general chairman is quite large because from the beginning the Minister of Investment/Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) has a close relationship with Airlangga Hartarto.

Dito assessed that this closeness could make it easier for Bahlil to be elected as General Chair of Golkar.

"Yes, of course it is a senior (Airlangga) and a junior (Bahli), and Pak Airlangga will certainly guide and cadre Bahlil, right? Bahlil has also been with Golkar for a long time," explained Dito.

Dito explained that the determination of the general chairman will be determined by the Golkar Party DPP in the 11th National Conference (Munas).

In the National Conference, it will be discussed who will run for chairman. It is even possible to elect the general chairman of the acclamation route to be determined in the congress.

Dito hopes that the National Conference which will take place on August 20 can produce a general chairman who deserves to lead Golkar.

Previously, Airlangga Hartarto announced his resignation as General Chairperson (Ketum) of the Golkar Party DPP in Jakarta, Sunday (11/8).

In a video broadcast by the Golkar Party in Jakarta, Sunday, Airlangga explained the reason he resigned because he wanted to maintain the integrity of the Golkar Party and ensure stability during the transition of government from Indonesian President Joko Widodo to Elected President Prabowo Subianto.

"By saying bismillahirrahmanirrahim, as well as on the instructions of God Almighty, I hereby declare my resignation from the position of General Chair of the Golkar Party DPP," Airlangga said in the video.

Airlangga continued his resignation as General Chair of Golkar starting Saturday (10/8) night.

"Furthermore, as a mature and mature party, the Golkar Party DPP will soon prepare an organizational mechanism in accordance with the provisions of the AD/ART organization in effect," Airlangga said in the same video.

Airlangga continued the next process that was running internally in Golkar, including related to the appointment of the general chairman and preparations for holding extraordinary national deliberations (munaslub) which would take place peacefully, orderly, and still uphold the dignity of the Golkar Party.
