KPK Yakin Miryam S Haryani Tak Kabur Meski Belum Ditahan Hari Ini
JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) believes that former DPR member Miryam S. Haryani will not run away even though he has not been detained today.
This was conveyed by KPK spokesman Tessa Mahardika after Miryam underwent an examination in the alleged corruption case of the electronic ID card procurement project or e-KTP. Miryam was summoned in his status as the examinee.
"That the detention has conditions and provisions, for example, those concerned (worried, ed) run away, the loss of evidence is in the investigator's authority," said Tessa to reporters at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Tuesday, August 13.
Tessa also said that the KPK had asked the Directorate General of Immigration of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kemenkumham) to prevent Miryam from leaving the country for six months. Thus, investigators believe that he did not run away as when he was named a suspect in the obstruction of corruption investigations in the procurement of e-KTP.
It is known that Miryam was fugitive and arrested in the Kemang area, South Jakarta in 2017. At that time he had been named a suspect in the challenge of investigators or obstruction of justice for providing false information in the trial.
"MSH has been prevented since July 30, 2024, based on the Decree of the KPK Leadership Number 983 of 2024. Prevention is valid for the next six months," he said.
Previously reported, this corruption case in the procurement of e-KTP has cost the state up to Rp2.3 trillion if referring to the report of the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK).
This case dragged the names of a number of high-ranking officials in the ministry, such as former Director General of Dukcapil Irman and former official at the Ministry of Home Affairs Sugiharto. In addition, there is also the name of former DPR Speaker Setya Novanto, former member of Commission III of the DPR Hanura Faction, Miryam S Haryani, a former member of Commission III of the DPR Markus Nari.
The KPK last named four new suspects in the e-KTP case in August 2020. They are former members of Commission II of the DPR from the Hanura Party faction, Miryam S Haryani, President Director of the Indonesian State Printing Corporation (PNRI) as well as Chairman of the PNRI Consortium Isnu Edhi Wijaya, Chairman of the Information Technology Technical Team for the Application of ID cards Husni Fahmi.
