PUPR Minister Basuki Hadimuljono Targets 30 Embung In IKN Kelar Until The End Of 2024

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) targets 30 reservoirs to be completed in the capital city of Nusantara (IKN) by the end of 2024. The plan in the future will be completed by 60 reservoirs in the new capital city.

PUPR Minister Basuki Hadimuljono said the MBH reservoir was one of 22 reservoirs in the Central Government Core Area (KIPP) that had been completed.

The MBH embung has a capacity of 66,000 cubic meters and is part of the National Axis area close to the State Palace and the Garuda Palace.

"This year, it is targeted that it will be completed by 30 reservoirs and the plan is that in the future it will continue to be added to 60 reservoirs," Basuki said as quoted from an upload on the official Instagram account of the Ministry of PUPR @kemenpupr, Tuesday, August 13.

Basuki said the MBH reservoir was also equipped with pedestrians, amphitheaters, jogging tracks to public spaces.

"The development also applies the Smart Water Management System concept in maintaining green open areas through automatic watering (sprinkler) operating using sensors that can detect water, soil, temperature, humidity and ph soil levels," he said.

According to Basuki, the reservoir has a main function for water conservation. In addition, for environmental aesthetics.

"According to the concept of environmental sustainability, we plant reservoir areas with various plants into green open spaces. Thus, it can improve the quality of microclime in IKN," he said.
