JAKARTA - Consultant Knight Frank Indonesia revealed that the inaugural plenary cabinet meeting in the capital city of Nusantara (IKN), East Kalimantan gave positive signals to investors.

According to him, the positive signal from the implementation of the Plenary Cabinet session at IKN is expected to be able to convince investors regarding the sustainability of IKN development.

"This signal is expected to be able to convince investors in the sustainability of IKN development," he said.

For information, President Joko Widodo chaired the inaugural plenary meeting with the ministers of the Advanced Indonesia Cabinet at the Garuda Palace, IKN, East Kalimantan.

The President of the Republic of Indonesia emphasized that the relocation of the capital city from Jakarta to the capital city of the archipelago (IKN) encourages economic equality outside Java.

The Head of State said that 58 percent of the economic gross domestic product (GDP) is in Java Island. For this reason, he wants equitable distribution so that areas outside Java also get an economic turnover.

In addition to the economic turnover, the President also revealed that population problems were also the reason for moving the capital city.

The population in Java is already very large, 56 percent of the population is on the island of Java. This is also a consideration to move the capital city and especially the burden on the capital city of Jakarta is already very heavy

Meanwhile, the presidential candidate elected in the 2024 election Prabowo Subianto emphasized his commitment to continue and complete the development of the capital city of Nusantara (IKN), even if it can be accelerated.
