Not Only Using The DKI Regional Budget, PSI Asks For A Free Food Program In The Style Of Prabowo In Jakarta To Use BOS Funds

JAKARTA - Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono was asked by a number of factions in the DKI Jakarta DPRD to allocate a budget for a free nutritious eating program at schools using the DKI Jakarta APBD. One of the things that prompted the PSI faction of the DKI DPRD.

In order for a program similar to the idea of President-Vice President-elect Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka to take place in a sustainable manner, PSI asked the DKI Provincial Government to budget for changes to the 2024 APBD and the 2025 APBD draft.

"We urge that this nutritious eating program not only be a trial, but is budgeted continuously in the 2024 Revised APBD and 2025 APBD, so that it can reach more children throughout Jakarta," said Chairman of the PSI faction of the DKI Jakarta DPRD William Sarana Aditya in his statement, Tuesday, August 13.

In fact, William also asked the DKI Provincial Government to allocate free food program financing from School Operational Assistance (BOS) funds. BOS is an aid fund from the government to each school to buy all learning needs.

William views that the additional budget from BOS funds is needed so that the free nutritious eating program can run more effectively.

"The PSI faction also proposes that the implementation of this program be strengthened by thickening the budget through BOS funds. This is important so that the program can run without financial barriers and continue to provide maximum benefits for students," explained William.

Previously, Heru Budi Hartono admitted that he would conduct free nutritious eating trials at several Jakarta schools. Heru said that the implementation of this free nutritious eating trial would begin after the commemoration of the Republic of Indonesia's Independence Day.

"I will start testing there are several schools in Cakung, East Jakarta, there are some in South Jakarta, that's SD," said Heru.

Heru asked for assistance from Regional Owned Enterprises (BUMD) Jakarta in turn to facilitate the implementation of the Prabowo-Gibran program.

Heru has not been able to explain the mechanism for the implementation of the free nutritious eating trial. He only ensured that the implementation would be carried out by BUMD with the community.

"Later, the trial, we have a BUMD Dharma Jaya. They can also carry out these activities with the surrounding community as well. We'll see later, yes. The most important thing is that the food is nutritious," concluded Heru.
