Observer: Pertamina's Advanced Innovation In Juanda, Increase Efficiency And Reliability Of Avtur Services

JAKARTA PT Pertamina Patra Niaga continues to strengthen its position as the leading avtur service provider in Indonesia by inaugurating the fuel hydrant system and adding four new storage facilities at the Aircraft Charging Depot (DPPU) or Aviation Fuel Terminal (AFT) Juanda, Sidoarjo.

This facility not only doubles its avtur stock capacity, but also speeds up the avtur charging process to aircraft and provides significant benefits for airlines.

Chairman of the National Transportation Safety Committee (KNKT), Soerjanto Tjahjanto, emphasized that Pertamina's improvement in facilities also had a positive impact on flight safety.

"All the requirements or regulations that must be met we see are also much better than 20 years ago. The development has been so fast. So far, for approximately 10 years, as long as there is an airplane crash we check the avtur and the results are all good. The quality of Pertamina's avtur is in accordance with international standards. We hope that Pertamina will continue to advance and continue to grow to maintain the quality that has been achieved," said Soerjanto, written on Monday, August 12.

Aviation Industry Observer who is also the INACA Expert Council (Indonesia National Air Carriers Association), Alvin Lie welcomed this step. "From the perspective of service users (flight airlines), capacity building in Juanda accelerates avtur charging, shortens turn around time and increases airline operational efficiency," said Alvin.

Alvin also appreciated Pertamina's commitment not only to focus on large airports, but also to provide services at 72 DPPU throughout Indonesia, including small airports which according to him are not necessarily profitable.

"The quality of the avtur provided by Pertamina remains guaranteed, supported by reliable facilities and human resources, as well as Pertamina Aviation Academy which continues to develop research and training. It is important to remember that the avtur provided by Pertamina is now 100 percent of domestic production," added Alvin.

Meanwhile, President Director of PT Pertamina Patra Niaga Riva Siahaan said the construction of this facility was a strategic step to strengthen the company's business operations and improve services to customers.

"With this new tank and hydrant fuel system, we can increase the resilience of avtur stocks for up to 20 days, supporting the smooth operation of flights at Terminal 2 Juanda Airport to become more reliable," said Riva.

This new facility is also part of Pertamina Patra Niaga's commitment to continue to increase efficiency and speed of avtur services at various major airports in Indonesia, including those that have been implemented at Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Ngurah Rai Bali, Hang Nadim Batam, Kualanamu Medan, and Yogyakarta International Airport (YIA).
