Member Of The Expert Council Of The Golkar Party: It Is Possible That Airlangga Hartarto Was Aware Of Being On The Wrong Track

JAKARTA - Member of the Golkar Expert Council, Palar Batubara, revealed his assessment of a number of possible reasons why Airlangga Hartarto resigned from his position as General Chair (Ketum) of the Golkar Party DPP.

"Well, maybe there is a question of something wrong, something. Or maybe Airlangga is aware of himself, realized 'Oh, I'm on the wrong track', that could also be the reason he resigned, or after he could no longer be'regulated', he was pressured to resign," said Palar in South Jakarta, Sunday.

This was conveyed by him after the launch of his biography entitled 75 Years of Bang Palar Batubara, the life of the Patriot as well as a celebration of 75 years of age.

Palar assessed that there was "something" behind the resignation of the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs (Menko Perekonomies) from the chair of the leadership of the Golkar Party because the determination of the General Chairperson of the Golkar Party was originally decided through the Golkar Party National Conference (Munas) once every 5 years.

"If he withdraws, it means there is'something' like I said earlier," he told Antara.

He even assessed that Airlangga's resignation as the chairman of the Golkar Party was a political tsunami. If it is not mitigated, it can have a wider impact on other political parties in the country.

This, he said, was because the Golkar Party as one of the political parties that was quite mature and large could be hit by such events.

"If like now there has been a political tsunami, we want a political tsunami not to have an impact on other things. However, if this political tsunami cannot be managed properly, this will happen to other political parties," he said.

Previously, Airlangga Hartarto announced his resignation as General Chair (Ketum) of the Golkar Party DPP in Jakarta, Sunday.

In an official video broadcast by the Golkar Party in Jakarta, Sunday, Airlangga explained the reason he resigned because he wanted to maintain the integrity of the Golkar Party and ensure stability during the transition of government from Indonesian President Joko Widodo to Prabowo Subianto's government as the winner of the 2024 presidential election.

"By saying Bismillahirrahmanirrahim, as well as on the instructions of God Almighty, I hereby declare my resignation as General Chair of the Golkar Party DPP," Airlangga said in the video.

Airlangga informed that his resignation as General Chair of the Golkar Party has been since Saturday (10/8) night.
