Bekasi Regional Election Survey: Kemal Hendrayadi-Sugiharto Pair Excels

JAKARTA - The Indonesian Election Study Institute (LKPI) released the results of a survey related to the 2024 Bekasi Mayor Election (Pilwakot). As a result, the Kemal Hendrayadi-Sugiharto pair outperformed other candidate pairs of candidates.

The LKPI survey was conducted in the period 1 to 8 August 2024 with a sample of 1,800 respondents who already have the right to vote in Bekasi City. The survey method is carried out randomly with a margin of error of 2.31 percent with a Confidence Level of 95 percent.

LKPI Executive Director Togu Lubis said the LKPI survey for Bekasi City was the second time after being compiled in May 2024. Based on the results of a survey on the level of acceptability and capability of the candidate for Mayor of Bekasi, the name of Brigadier General TNI Kemal Hendrayadi is in the top position.

Kemal diterima dan dinilai mampu menjadi Wali Kota Bekasi oleh 70,3 persen responden. Disusul Tri Adhianto 54,8 persen, Heri Koswara 48,6 persen, Mochtar Mohammad 41,6 persen dan nama lainnya di bawah 40 persen.

Then, continued Togu, followed by Mochtar Mohammad 6.1 percent, Ade Puspitasari 5.3 percent, and Sigit Purnomo 3.6 percent. Then, Abdul Rozak with 2.3 percent.

"Other names were chosen under 2 percent, and did not vote 9.7 percent," he said.

LKPI then narrowed the choice of respondents and conducted a test of the electability level of the candidate for Mayor of Bekasi with a simulation test of 4 names with a question which figure would be chosen if the election was held today. As a result, Brigadier General Kemal Hendrayadi was still in the top position with 29.6 percent being selected.

Followed by Tri Adhianto who was chosen as much as 25.1 percent, Heri Koswara 14.5 percent and Mochtar Mohammad 7.7 percent. Meanwhile, 23.1 percent did not choose.

"When it was congested again in the simulation of 3 names of candidates for the Mayor of Bekasi, the electability level of Brigadier General Kemal Hendrayadi was at 34.8 percent, followed by Tri Adhianto 33.1 percent, and Heri Koswara 16.2 percent, and there were 15.9 percent of respondents who had not voted," explained Togu.

The survey results also capture the level of popularity of Bekasi Mayor candidates. As a result, Mochtar Mohamad's name is known by 72.6 percent, Tri Adhianto 68.7 percent, Heri Koswara is known at 61.7 percent, Brigadier General Kemal Hendrayadi 61.3 percent and other figures under 40 percent.

LKPI also conducted head-to-head simulations between Brigadier General Kemal Hendrayadi and Tri Adhianto. The electability advantage is also still owned by Brigadier General Kemal Hendrayadi with 46.7 percent and Tri Adhianto 43.6 percent, while respondents who did not choose were 9.7 percent.

However, when LKPI conducted head-to-head simulations between Tri Adhianto and Heri Koswara, the result was that the name Tri Adhianto was chosen at 32.6 percent and Heri Koswara was chosen at 30.8 percent. Meanwhile, there were 36.6 percent of respondents who did not choose.

"LKPI also simulated that the three candidates for mayor and deputy mayor of Bekasi as a result of the Kemal Hendrayadi-Sugiharto candidate were chosen as 32.1 percent, then Tri Adhianto-Nofel Saleh Hilabi was chosen 29.6 percent, Heri Koswara-Sholihin was chosen at 21.7 percent, did not know / did not answer 16.6 percent," said Togu.

LKPI also conducted a survey on public satisfaction with the performance of the Bekasi City Government led by the Mayor of Bekasi, Rahmat Effendi and his deputy Tri Adhianto. The survey showed 58.8 percent of the Bekasi City community were dissatisfied and 41.2 percent said they were satisfied with the performance results of Rahmat Effendi and his deputy Tri Adhianto.
