Regarding The Poster Of Gibran, The Chairman Of The Golkar Party, Hasto Hopes That Sovereignty Is In The Hands Of Members

JAKARTA - PDI-P Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto assessed that the appearance of Gibran Rakabuming Raka's poster as General Chair of Golkar showed a political motive.

"Then there are those who use it for the sake of power," said Hasto, Antara, Sunday, August 11.

After Airlangga Hartarto resigned from the position of General Chair of the Golkar Party, a poster circulated from the Young Coalition for Golkar Renewal (KMPG) accompanied by a photo of the son of Indonesian President Joko Widodo with the words Gibran Rakabuming Raka for Ketum Golkar 2024 '2029.

Hasto hopes that every political party can maintain party sovereignty.

"We, the PDI-P, pray that political parties, every political party, can truly maintain their sovereignty in the hands of members. Sovereignty is not at the helm of power," he reminded.

On that occasion, Hasto said that the news of Airlangga Hartarto's resignation had been reported to the Chairperson of the PDI-P Megawati Soekarnoputri.

"This is very surprising because this is in the context of simultaneous regional elections, and there has been a political incident that in our category is an extraordinary thing that touches the aspect of party sovereignty," he said.

According to him, Airlangga is a communicator figure and a colleague who builds good political cooperation.

"In the regional elections, we have worked a lot with the Golkar Party, apart from other parties such as Gerindra, PKB, PPP, Perindo, Hanura, and also the National Mandate Party," he said.
