Two Village Apparatus Personnel Become Suspects Of Corruption In APBDes Funds And PADes 2014-2019
The District Attorney (Kejari) of Tulungagung Regency, East Java has named two village officials as suspects in corruption in APBDes and PADes 2014-2019 funds.
"Yes, we have named two suspects in the APBDes and PADes corruption cases in Batangsaren Village, Kauman District. The suspects are village heads and village treasurers," said Tulungagung District Attorney Tri Sutrisno, quoting Antara, Sunday, August 11.
Tri Sutrisno said that the handling of this case had actually been around for a long time, about three years since the official investigation began in 2021.
This case was finally declared to have upgraded to investigation after the results of the pulbaket (collection of evidence and information) found a number of pieces of evidence to ensnare the suspects involved.
The village head and treasurer of Batangsaren Village were then named suspects because they were considered to play a direct role and responsibility for the leakage of the local village budget during the 2014-2019 period.
The two are suspected of conspiring to commit village budget corruption, including in the village treasury land rental.
State losses due to their actions are estimated at IDR 787 million during that period.

This detention was carried out to anticipate the possibility of escaping before the case file was transferred to the Surabaya Corruption Court.
Even though he has the status of a suspect, RPG and KMZ still serve as Village Head and Treasurer of Batangsaren Village.
The Tulungagung Prosecutor's Office is now focusing on accelerating filing so that this case will immediately enter the trial stage.
"We will immediately accelerate the filing to be tried at the Surabaya Corruption Court," said Tri.
