Acting Governor Of Aceh Reminds Three Acting Regents Who Have Just Been Inaugurated About Food Price Inflation

Acting (Pj) Aceh Governor Bustami Hamzah reminded the three acting regents who had just been inaugurated in the province, to maintain the inflation rate of basic necessities, so as not to exceed the control range of the inflation control target.

It is known that the newly appointed officials are Acting Regent of Bireuen, Acting Regent of Southwest Aceh, and Acting Regent of Central Aceh. They were asked to optimize the performance of the Regional Inflation Control Team (TPID) in order to anticipate uncontrolled inflation.

"Food distribution must be considered for the smooth supply and demand so that annual inflation is no more than four percent," said Bustami, quoting Antara, Sunday, August 11.

Data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) noted that in July 2024, Aceh experienced an annual inflation (year-on-year) of 2.51 percent, with the highest commodity contributors to inflation from rice commodities, drinking water rates, machine kretek cigarettes and gold jewelry.

BPS said that Aceh's inflation in July 2024 was still within the government's target range, namely 1.5 percent at least and a maximum of 3.5 percent.

However, the governor of Aceh still asked regional heads to maintain price stability in their respective regions.

In addition to maintaining food distribution, the governor also asked the regional heads who had just received the mandate to anticipate the potential increase in the price of basic necessities due to the impact of disasters.

"Anticipation of disasters must also be prepared in order to avoid the possibility of the worst happening," said Bustami.

On the other hand, the Acting Governor also asked the three regents to optimize regional potential in order to be able to provide leverage for the welfare of the people. At the same time run the government system in a transparent, accountable and law-abiding manner.

"Efforts to realize the APBK can be accelerated so that budget absorption is more optimal. Don't forget to fix the administrative system so that it is well organized and managed," he said.
