Bobby Nasution-Aulia Wants All Medan Residents To Be Protected By BPJS Kesehatan
MEDAN - Pemko Medan wants all Medan residents to be protected by the Health Social Security Administering Body (BPJS). Through this guarantee, every resident can get the same health services.
"We want residents in Medan to have their health protected, and we have asked for data from the BPJS. The data we have is for us to adjust, so that there are no more residents who do not have a BPJS," said Deputy Mayor of Medan, Aulia Rachman in Medan, quoted by Antara, Wednesday , March 24th.
He conveyed this on behalf of the Mayor of Medan Bobby Afif Nasution at the BPJS Health stakeholder communication forum meeting at the Medan mayor's office.
Aulia Rachman said, Pemko Medan will cluster the community as the owner of BPJS Kesehatan independently who are still able to pay the dues and the people who are unable to pay the dues.
Universal Health Coverage (UHC) itself, he explained, is a health insurance program that ensures everyone has access to quality health services at affordable costs.
"So we will cluster, which people are still able to pay. Those who cannot, we propose to enter UHC. Especially in the midst of this COVID-19 pandemic, everything is very difficult. Many people are even owed by BPJS," explained Aulia.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Medan BPJS Kesehatan Branch, Dr. Sari Quratul Ainy, said that the JKN-KIS Medan City participants currently total 2,016,735 or around 79.89 percent.
"Of that number, the segment of workers who do not receive wages is still in arrears. Among them are Class 3 with 201,002 people, Class 2 with 50,507 people, Class 1 with 49,856 people," he explained.
