OJK Calls Banking Industry Assets In North Maluku Reaches IDR 21.99 Trillion

PER position in May 2024, the Financial Services Authority (OJK) of North Sulawesi, Gorontalo, North Maluku (Sulutgomalut) said the assets of the banking industry in North Maluku Province reached IDR 21.99 trillion.

"This figure increased by 10.52 percent on an annual basis (year on year) compared to May 2023 which amounted to Rp. 19.90 trillion," said Head of OJK Sulutgomalut Robert HP Sianipar when contacted from Ternate, North Maluku, quoted from ANTARA, Saturday, August 10.

Meanwhile, in terms of credit, it grew 5.45 percent on an annual basis, because previously in May 2023 the amount of bank credit was IDR 14.52 trillion, an increase to IDR 15.31 trillion in May 2024.

In terms of third party funds (DPK), said Robert, also grew by 30.33 percent on an annual basis. The annual DPK rate in May 2024 is IDR 14.04 trillion, an increase of significant compared to May 2023 which is 10.78 trillion.

He said this figure on an annual basis (year on year / yoy) recorded an increase of 9.41 percent compared to April 2023 which amounted to IDR 19.89 trillion and is predicted to increase when compared to banking industry assets in December 2023 which amounted to 21.07 trillion.

In addition, said Robert, the OJK also recorded bank industry credit growth in the same period this year in April 2024, bank industry loans grew by 6.27 percent to Rp15.28 trillion. Meanwhile, the previous credit figures in April 2023 amounted to Rp14.37 trillion, and Rp15.12 trillion in December 2023.

He said that third party funds (DPK) grew 27.34 percent on an annual basis (yoy) to Rp13.99 trillion. Previously, in April 2023 the growth was Rp10.98 trillion, and Rp11.84 trillion in December 2023.

For this reason, his party continues to improve financial access to the entire community, through the results of the monitor there are several Regional Financial Access Acceleration Teams (TPAKD).

Robert said that in increasing financial access to the entire community, of course, from the results of the monitoring, several regencies/cities in the North Maluku region had not yet followed the program and this became the attention of the OJK.
