Pupuk Indonesia Group Proud To Contribute To The Development And Development Of National Weightlifters
JAKARTA - As a state-owned company that supports weightlifting, PT Pupuk Indonesia (Persero) appreciates and is proud of the achievements of lifter Rizki Juniansyah who won a gold medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics. This medal is the first gold achieved by weightlifting during his participation in the Olympics since 1952, besides that it is also Indonesia's second gold medal at this year's Paris Olympics.
President Director of Pupuk Indonesia, Rahmad Pribadi said that the Minister of SOEs of the Republic of Indonesia, Erick Thohir, always encourages SOEs to contribute to sports activities and achievements in the country. According to him, the achievements achieved by Rizki in this international event have a positive impact on weightlifting sports. This is in line with Pupuk Indonesia's commitment to encourage the advancement of weightlifting.
"Pupuk Indonesia Group congratulates Rizki Juniansyah for his achievements. Since 2022 or three years ago we have supported the development and development of weightlifters through the implementation of the Youth and Adult Weightlifting National Championships. Through the support of this activity, it is a form of contribution from Pupuk Indonesia to the country," said Rahmad, in his written statement, Friday, August 9.
Rizki managed to win a gold medal in the men's 73 kg weightlifting match at the South Paris Arena 6, France. The 21-year-old lifter finished the match with a total lift of 354 kg in the form of a snatch of 155 kg and a clean & jerk lift of 199 kg. Rizki's weight also broke the record for the Olympic clean & jerk. As an effort to maintain weightlifting achievements, he added, Pupuk Indonesia routinely held the National Championship (Kewarnas) Weightlifting since 2022. Most recently, Pupuk Indonesia together with three of its subsidiaries were Gresik Petrokimia, East Kalimantan Pupuk (Pupuk Kaltim), and Pupuk Sriwidjaja Palembang organized the U15 - U17 Pupuk Indonesia 2024 Weightlifting Championship in Bandung, starting from 1 to 4 August 2024. There were hundreds of athletes from various competing provinces. The company hopes that the nationals organized by Pupuk Indonesia will be one of the platforms for fostering as well as developing weightlifting talents ranging from youth to adults. The reason is, regional lifters are able to experience a fairly tight match atmosphere competing with Pelatnas lifters who are the mainstay of the Indonesian Weightlifting Team at the international level.

He further said that the achievements of the nation's children are the responsibility of all parties. Pupuk Indonesia as part of SOEs certainly supports the regeneration of lifters. Therefore, it is hoped that Pupuk Indonesia's support will be able to produce outstanding young lifters who can make the nation proud in the future, so that the support for this activity is a form of contribution from Pupuk Indonesia Group to the state.
