Not Wanting To Have The Same Fate As Julian Alvarez, This Real Madrid Star Denies Man City's Offer

Real Madrid star Rodrygo Silva de Goes rejected an offer from Manchester City. He did not want to have the same fate as Julian Alvarez who chose to leave for Atletico Madrid

Rodrygo became Man City's target after being left by Alvarez. Bored only to be Erling Haaland's coating that made Alvarez leave Etihad.

Atletico became the attacking destination for the Argentine national team. He hopes to get a place and play regularly instead of sitting on the bench.

Man City himself made a big profit from Alvarez's sales. How not, this English Premier League club only needed 14 million when they brought Alvarez from the River Plate in 2022. Now, Man City can release their players for 82 million which makes club's most expensive sale.

Profits from Alvarez's sales that Man City will use to buy forwards. It doesn't have to be a centre forward but it can also be a winger or attacking midfielder who is the target of The Cityzens.

"Man City, now, is looking for a replacement for Alvarez. He could be a striker. But I'm not surprised if a winger is brought in or a false 9 player to replace Erling Haaland," said Fabrizio Romano, a journalist who is also a player transfer expert as quoted by Team Talk.

"There has been discussions within the club to take the next step. We'll see the results of the conversation," he said.

Madrid forward Rodrygo, who later became Man City's target. The opportunity to sign the Brazilian national team striker is considered quite open considering the intense competition ahead of Madrid after the recruitment of Kylian Mbappe and Endrick.

Only Rodrygo was not interested in Man City's offer. In fact, he will refuse even though Pep Guardiola's manager contacted him directly.

Rodrygo does not want to have the same fate as Alvarez, who only plays Haaland. Moreover, Rodrygo will not necessarily be backed up by coach Carlo Ancelotti despite the arrivals of Mbappe and Endrick.

Last season, Ancelotti was said to be having a hard time because Madrid bought Jude Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund. But Ancelotti then changed the formation to 4-3-3 by playing Rodrygo, Vinicius Junior and Bellingham as false 9.

Now, Ancelotti has changed the formation again to give Mbappe and Endrick a place. The Brazilian duo remains the first choice with Mbappe. Meanwhile, Bellingham was pulled back. England players will return to play in the middle just like when they were in Dortmund.

This is what made Rodrygo refuse the offer to move. The reason is he is not necessarily eliminated from the main Los Merengues squad.

On the other hand, in Man City he will definitely sit on the bench because Guardiola has never changed the formation of a single striker which belongs to Haaland. Even Rodrygo is projected as a coating for the Norwegian national team striker.
