Hyundai Still Presents The Latest Hybrid Car In Indonesia Even Though There Are No Incentives. What's That?

JAKARTA - Recently, the government determined that there was no change in regulations around the country's automotive industry. With no changes, it means that the government will also not issue policies in providing incentives for hybrid vehicles in Indonesia.

Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto said the hybrid segment received good reception and even doubled when compared to the previous year. But, does this make single agents of brand holders (ATPM) reluctant to present the latest hybrid products?

Chief Operating Officer of PT Hyundai Motors Indonesia (HMID) Fransiscus Soerjopranoto, said that his party will continue to present hybrid products in the country with or not incentives from the government

"From Hyundai, we will follow the government, but we will also launch a new hybrid driving car," said the man who is familiarly called Suryo during a meeting with the media in Lebak Bulus, Jakarta, Friday, August 9.

Meskipun demikian, pihaknya mengucapkan terima kasih kepada pemerintah karena memberikan kepastian mengenai regulasi tersebut.

"We would like to thank the government for providing certainty about its policies. So, we are grateful to be able to feel calm in terms of launching new products," he explained.

He also added that the reason the manufacturer will enter this segment is because it sees the opportunity that the market is one of the potential and is in demand by consumers.

"Hybrids don't have incentives but we see opportunities because the market is big, why don't we try to enter," he said.

However, Suryo could not confirm whether the product would be assembled locally (CKD) or imports intact (CBU). However, he guaranteed that Hyundai would launch at least three models by the end of this year.

"Now there are only a few months left, we make sure we will introduce three new products so that the automotive market varies again," he explained.

The newest hybrid car is probably Santa Fe Hybrid. What's more, this latest generation SUV is listed in the Motor Vehicle Selling Value List (NJKB).

The list states that Santa Fe has prices ranging from IDR 432 million to IDR 445 million. But keep in mind, that the prices listed on the NKJB website do not cover all sales taxes such as BBNKB, PPh, VAT, and others. So that the actual price may be different when this car is marketed in Indonesia.
