Bring Additional Evidence, Bareskrim Asked To Immediately Investigate Allegations Of Use Of Fake Diplomas From Ponorogo Regent

The Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police was asked to immediately investigate and thoroughly investigate the alleged use of fake diplomas by the Regent of Ponorogo, Sugiri Sancoko.

The request was conveyed by a number of residents who are members of the Ponorogo Community Communication Forum (FKMP) when they visited the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police Headquarters.

"We came from Ponorogo to the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police Headquarters to support the efforts of Bareskrim investigators in thoroughly investigating the alleged use of the Fake Diplomas of the Regent of Ponorogo, Mr. Sugiri Sancoko," said FKMP Didik to reporters, Friday, August 9.

Not only that, Didik said that his party supports the Civil Society Communication Forum (FKMS) which in early June 2024 had reported a case of alleged use of the fake diploma.

"We also support reports from our friends from the Civil Society Communication Forum, in which the report is about alleged use of illegal diplomas," he said.

He also came to present some additional evidence.

It is hoped that this evidence can make it easier for investigators to investigate cases of alleged use of fake diplomas by the Regent of Ponorogo, Sugiri Sancoko.

One additional evidence submitted was in the form of a copy of the Waingapu District Court trial decision number 139/Pid.B/2012/PN.WNP.

"The additional evidence that we submitted to investigators included a court decision in Sulawesi, from the same university, namely Tri Tunggal University, Surabaya, from the same chancellor, and the verdict was found guilty," said Didik.

Previously, FKMS also wrote to the Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police, Komjen Wahyu Widada, regarding the alleged use of fake diplomas by the Regent of Ponorogo, Sugiri Sancoko.

The chairman of FKMS, Sutikno said that this step was taken because the legal process for the case did not seem to have any progress.

"We encourage Bareskrim to take over the case," said Sutikno.

The alleged case of a fake diploma involving the Regent of Ponorogo was handled by the General Investigation Directorate of the East Java Police in 2022.
