Denying Rumors Of Ridwan Kamil-Kaesang For The Jakarta Regional Head Election, Projo: Gossip, Which Is Definitely Aja

JAKARTA - Pro Jokowi Volunteers or Projo DPP denied that Ridwan Kamil would partner with President Joko Widodo's eldest son as well as PSI General Chair, Kaesang Pangarep in the 2024 Jakarta Pilkada.

The rebuttal was emphasized by the General Treasurer of the Projo DPP, Panel Barus when responding to a banner that reads Kaesang 2024-2029 on a number of roads in the Jakarta area. The speculation arose because PSI was part of the Advanced Indonesia Coalition (KIM) which had already agreed that Ridwan Kamil would run for the Jakarta gubernatorial election.

"Regarding Mas Kaesang, young people always bring hope. But regarding what Projo's attitude is like to Kaesang, we haven't decided yet. Later we will say we support it if the person doesn't progress? We respond to gossip. So for sure," said Panel Barus at the Projo DPP office, Friday, August 9th.

Just like the parties in KIM, Panel emphasized, Projo will support Ridwan Kamil in the Jakarta gubernatorial election with all the beliefs that the former Governor of West Java can win the battle in Jakarta, whoever his opponent is.

"Moreover, we often say that Jakarta is a bit sacred for incumbents. Incumbents always lose in Jakarta, and all people whose survey numbers are high have finally lost in Jakarta. So we believe in supporting RK in Jakarta and being able to win the fight," he said.

The panel also emphasized that there was no attempt to make a scenario for the empty box from KIM to tackle other candidates who wanted to run in the Jakarta gubernatorial election. He also reminded those who accused him of trying to prevent themselves.

"They are self-introspection, instead we see that friends have difficulty finding cooperation partners, because people work together to calculate profit and loss as well. Departing from the experience of the presidential election in collaboration, is it profitable or not? That's a fact, don't turn it around, don't make a narrative that distorts that there is a scenario for empty boxes, that there is a scenario for irregularities. Previously, there were banners of support for PSI General Chair, Kaesang Pangarep, which read 'Kaesang 2024-2029' in the Jakarta area. One of the banners 'Kaesang 2024-2029' was seen in one of the JPOs in the South Jakarta area.

Meanwhile, the General Chairperson of the Golkar Party, Airlangga Hartato, revealed that the initials "S" will be carried as a candidate for deputy governor to accompany Ridwan Kamil in the 2024 Jakarta gubernatorial election (Pilgub).

"It's already there. While the initials are S," said Airlangga when met at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta, Friday, August 9.

Airlangga's statement responded to the media crew's question about the person who would accompany Ridwan Kamil in the Jakarta gubernatorial election. However, when asked about the cawagub with the initials S was PKS President Ahmad Syaikhu, Airlangga denied it.

He also denied the name of the Deputy Chairperson of the PKS Shura Council, Sohibul Iman, who was side by side with Emil, Ridwan Kamil's nickname, in the gubernatorial election.
