Regarding Not Being A Hybrid Incentive From The Government, GWM: This Segment Will Still Grow

JAKARTA - Recently, the government through the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto announced that it does not provide the latest policy regarding hybrid vehicle incentives for this year.

However, the government argued that hybrid vehicles are currently getting good reception and have managed to grow up to two times compared to the previous year.

Responding to this, GWM Indonesia Marketing Director Hari Arifianto, said that his party respects all steps taken by the government, although the manufacturer is optimistic that the Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV) segment will continue to grow in the country.

"We respect all policies from the government. Apart from this, we remain optimistic about the development of the HEV segment in the country," Hari said when contacted by VOI, Friday, August 9.

He also explained that the hybrid dominates the environmentally friendly vehicle market and has increased rapidly so as to grow hopes that this segment will continue to grow even though there are no incentives.

"This shows that the stronger consumer confidence in the New Energy Vehicle category has proven to be more environmentally friendly, with stronger confidence in the HEV segment," added Hari.

He also explained that now his party is focusing on building consumer confidence by not only channeling innovative products but also comprehensive services such as aftersales.

"The fundamental thing that is our main concern at this time is to continue to build the trust of Indonesian consumers, not only through innovative products that match consumer needs and lifestyles, but also with comprehensive after-sale services," explained Hari.

Great Wall Motor or GWM marked its debut in Indonesia last year by launching three HEV models, such as Tank 500, Tank 300, and Haval H6. The manufacturer from China also introduced Haval Jolion as its first local assembled vehicle and competed in the subcompact SUV segment.

Haval Jolion is an affordable vehicle presented by this brand with a tag of Rp448.8 million On The Road DKI Jakarta. Then, Haval H6 worth Rp648.3 million, Tank 300 for Rp833.8 million, and Tank 500 for Rp1.196 billion.
