XL Axiata Strives To Continue Tingkaykan Network Quality In IKN
JAKARTA - PT XL Axiata Tbk (XL Axiata) in an effort to support the existence of the capital city of Nusantara (IKN) as the center of new government, continues to improve the quality of networks in the region.
"In the last year period, development activities in the IKN area are increasingly massive. This has helped increase XL Axiata traffic, reaching more than 300 percent," said XL Axiata Director & Chief Technology Officer, I Gede Darmayusa in a statement in Jakarta, quoted from Antara, Friday 9 August.
For this reason, in addition to focusing on improving network quality within the IKN area, the company also improves network quality at infrastructure development points and IKN supporting facilities such as toll roads, airports, hospitals, hotels and other supporting facilities in collaboration with the IKN Authority.
I Gede Darmayusa added that in order to provide convenience and support the success of the 79th Indonesian Anniversary Commemoration Ceremony at IKN, the company specifically strengthens the network by adding 3 units of Mobile BTS (MBTS).
The three were placed around the location of the ceremony, coordinating with the IKN Authority, and previously, in the IKN construction project area, XL Axiata has placed 4 MBTS units.
His party has also prepared 3 BTS, as well as added 2 more BTS Macro including an in door network that has been installed in Swissotel Nusantara. Overall, now XL Axiata has provided a total of 12 BTS in the ring 1 area of IKN.
In the future, as service traffic continues to increase and the need for services at IKN, the company will also continue to increase capacity and infrastructure there.
Especially when IKN has really started operating, with many people starting to work and live there, the company needs to provide adequate networks to ensure the convenience and convenience of customers in using XL Axiata #SoBetter services.
Meanwhile, for the IKN buffer zone, until the end of June 2024, the network is supported by approximately 500 BTS with the majority being 4G BTS.
This buffer zone is spread across Kutai Kartanegara Regency and North Penajam Paser Regency, where these two districts are part of the IKN area.

The company also continues to strengthen the network by increasing BTS and increasing network capacity in IKN buffer cities such as Balikpapan and Samarinda.
In the city of Balikpapan, the company has more than 570 BTS with the majority being 4G BTS, while in Samarinda it almost reaches 600 BTS with the majority being 4G BTS.
