Google Chrome Ends Update Support At MacOS Catalina

JAKARTA As the most widely used browser on mobile and computer, Google Chrome continues to gain improvements. This browser has even begun to present features based on Artificial Intelligence (AI). With so many advanced features Google has launched over the past few times, a number of devices may be struggling to run this browser. Therefore, Google began to stop Chrome support in a long-standing system. When Chrome version 129 was released, this browser could no longer operate in macOS 10.15 Catalina. If Mac users wanted to keep using Chrome, they would have to use macOS 11 or later. This change started on September 17 so that the last Chrome to be used by macOS Catalina is version 128. Please note that this macOS is already five years old and has reached the end of its (EoL) lifetime two years ago. This operating system (OS) has not even got the latest security patches or any other support from Apple. Therefore, it is not surprising that Google decided to end Chrome support on Mac with this OS.

Even though the support has been discontinued, Chrome can still run on macOS Catalina over the next few years. However, users will not see an update or upgrade after September 17. Users also can't update their Chrome because notifications related to the latest version won't appear. If the user wants to update macOS to the Big Sur version, go to the Software Update menu on System Preferences and see if the device is supportive.
