Zero Dividends, DKI Provincial Government Will Take Over JIS And Velodrome From Jakpro

JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government plans to take over ownership of assets of Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) and Jakarta International Velodrome from BUMD PT Jakarta Propertindo (Jakpro). The plan is that the DKI Provincial Government will make JIS and Velodrome assets owned by the government and Jakpro only run its operations. Head of the DKI Jakarta BUMD Development Agency Nasruddin Djoko Surjono revealed, such schemes are similar to the infrastructure between the Ministry of Transportation with PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI). "The infrastructure should indeed be managed by the Provincial Government. What is currently being studied like that. For what? If it is managed by Jakpro, the cost of shrinking assets is large," Nasruddin told reporters, Friday, August 9. Over the past five years, Jakpro has not paid dividends or profit sharing to the DKI Provincial Government as the shareholder. This is due to the large number of assets built to managed by Jakpro. The burden of asset value shrinkage is increasing every year, but the income obtained from asset operations is not commensurate. Some assets that are considered to impose Jakpro finances are JIS and Velodrome operations. This condition is often criticized by the DKI Jakarta DPRD. Because, every year Jakpro always gets an injection of regional capital participation (PMD) with large values from the APBD, but the minimal revenue generated for regional finances.

"We hope that the PMD must produce positive profits. In principle, this is impact from before, meaning that Jakpro's developments have an impact such as the cost of shrinking (assets) and so on," explained Nasruddin. So, with the takeover of asset ownership, Nasruddin hopes that Jakpro will begin to be able to provide dividends to the DKI Provincial Government. "he added.
