The Location Of The Ex- Tambang In IKN Is Transformed Into A Tourist Place

JAKARTA - The location of the former coal mine, located in Wono Sari Village, Sepaku District, Penajam Paser Utara (PPU), East Kalimantan (Kaltim), has been transformed into a leading tourist destination in the form of the Goa Tapak Raja Nature Tourism.

"Since IKN moved to PPU, economic growth and others have moved quickly, one of which is the tourism sector, such as in Goa Tapak Raja," said PPU Regency PKK chairman Linda Romauli Siregar as reported by ANTARA, Friday, August 9.

This Alam Goa Tapak Raja Tourism area was once a coal mine left behind since 2012, then abandoned and some of the community's land was planted with hard trees for reforestation.

Then in 2020, the local village government together with the community and related parties began to mobilize all resources to make the cave a tourist destination because IKN had been determined to move to Sepaku.

Since then, mutual cooperation has continued to be carried out with village communities, local residents, to third parties until then the location is now a leading destination that is often visited by guests from various regions, even foreign tourists have come several times.

Linda is grateful that Wono Sari is in the top three in the BBGRM competition held by the East Kalimantan Province Community and Village Government Empowerment Service (DPMPD), this illustrates that Wono Sari is able to compete with 841 villages spread across 841 villages in East Kalimantan.

The inclusion of the top three nominations is also proof that the level of mutual cooperation by the people of Wono Sari is quite high, because in this competition this is the main assessment of the level of community participation in mutual cooperation, both in the fields of economy, social, health, environment, religion, tourism, and others.

"Given the great level of mutual cooperation and the enthusiasm of village officials with community cadres in making the presentation, I am sure Wono Sari can win first place in this competition," he said.

However, he reminded, being able to win one, two, or three, is a bonus of various forms of service provided by the village government to the community, because the most important thing is consistency in moving the community and embracing various parties in advancing the village.

The group of the BBGRM Assessment Team is led by Roslindawaty, as the Head of the East Kalimantan Province DPMPD Institutional and Social Cultural Empowerment Division.

Meanwhile, the assessment team came from various elements, including the East Kalimantan Provincial DPMPD, the East Kalimantan Community Empowerment Institution (LPM), and the East Kalimantan Community Empowerment Cadre Communication Forum (Forkom KPM).
